About us

Founded in 2022, Alta Fire began producing fire apparatus in its Idaho-based manufacturing facility in 2024. Our goal is to efficiently build pre-designed Type 1 fire apparatus to the highest manufacturing standards using the highest quality components, while making them available to the firefighting community at heavily discounted prices. Our concerns are safety, affordability, and lasting value. In particular, Alta’s approach to apparatus manufacture will enable small and rural fire agencies a quick, sensible, and affordable way to replace their older vehicles, as well as vehicles that must be retired early due to damage or wreckage.

The 10 exceptional craftsmen who joined Alta Fire have been fabricating fire apparatus for decades. Eight have long-term experience manufacturing new apparatus. Our in-house engineer trained with craftsmen with extensive careers building fire trucks at other companies and spent seven years learning from them before returning to college to earn his engineering degree. He and the company are supported by a consulting engineer with over a decade designing and engineering fire apparatus and parts. Combined, Alta Fire’s personnel represent well over one hundred years of fire apparatus design and experience.
